all in a day: 2012

Hello again! Please excuse my year-long absence, a year just goes by so fast, doesn't it? But I am trying to get back into blogging again, in hopes of having a "professional", for lack of a better term, blog. The ultimate goal is to become a professional pinner (getting paid for pins? Seriously, what could be better?) and my dear, wise sister said a blog would probably help me get more followers on Pinterest. So wish me luck! Some noteworthy things from over the year....

- Keaton came home!!! First time the whole family was together for the first time in 4 years! And he got engaged this August to the oh so lovely Lillian:) Wedding is November 17.

- I took Driver's Ed, (passed, thank the sweet heavens!) got my braces off, and turned 15! I got my permit in May.

- Caleb and sweet Courtney got engaged last December and married April 27. The whole family was there and in North Carolina for the Open House in May!

- Emma turned 2, and is now going to preschool. That girl is growing up!

- Started Sophomore year in July. SO fun. Haha I'm in Percussion Ensemble now! It's me, one other girl, and then about seven other boys. Do I have any drumming experience? Don't be ridiculous. But it's so fun, and it's interesting to learn something new and different! Props to Cooper for encouraging me to do that:)

- One more major thing for me -- apparently, I can bake now! Before, everything I made would mess up horribly somehow. Then this February, I decided to give it another go. I started with chocolate-chip cookies, the most basic thing, and when they came out of the oven, they looked normal! I tried one, and it tasted normal too! I was quite overwhelmed with joy, it's kind of a big deal for me:)

So yesterday, we went to the State Fair! It only lasts a week this year, so we went as soon as we could. What is the State Fair, you ask? It's fried-food paradise, with some rides, games, history of our loverly state, and the concept of Fall for me in one place. Once you get over the gross people and the lack of proper sanitation, it's a charming place! So here goes...

...and that's all of the pictures. I forgot to take more haha! So after Rebekah and I walked around for an hour because we didn't know where we were, eating the funnel cake, cobbler for me and foot-long dog for Rebekah, we met my parents. Then the party really got started! Because we knew where we were going...kind of. After heading to the "Haunted Mansion", someone had to go to the bathroom (ahem, high maintenance!) so we walked back to the bathroom, then walked back towards the mansion. But we got lost, so had to turn back again and head in the right direction! We had problemas. Finally, we got to the Haunted Mansion (SO not worth it. I'm a big scardey-cat, but puh-lease! The only scary part was right before we went in and didn't know what was going to happen.) Then I made Rebekah go on my favorite, The Avalanche. She did not want to go, but finally said she would as long as we weren't in the front. After waiting about..what...20 minutes? It looked like we would be in the front. But then the person said he could fit two more. Dear Rebekah was quite excited until the man said,

"All right, you two go to the front!"

Haha! I laughed so hard. Rebekah did too...afterwards:) Then we decided to get the last of our fried food on the way back to meet my parents. We ended up getting fried Oreos. H-O-L-Y S-M-O-K-E-S!!! Those things need to be sold everywhere, they were the BEST things we had ever eaten! We figured the only thing that could be better was if we were watching Batman while eating them. Seriously, so, so, so, SO good. We figured we ended the night off with a bang:)
